Oh no - the house really smells like dogs! How does a realtor tell a seller the house smells? Cigarettes or dogs - even cats sometimes - if you live with it, you don't notice the odors. Even the nicest dogs carry an odor - but some more than others. But there is nothing more off-putting than opening a home with a customer in tow and being immediately overwhelmed by the odor! Telling your seller is not easy - you don't want to offend them by implying they and their home aren't clean. And hiding the smell is considered by some brokers to be unethical - so room deodorizers really aren't right either. Quite a consternation. |
